You’ve Seen Me Speak Before… But Not Like This.

Have you had the chance to hear me do a keynote? Maybe you’re going to be seeing me again at an upcoming conference! Whether you’ve seen me once, twice, or even a third time, don’t expect a rerun.

I don’t do reruns.

The foundation stays the same.
The passion stays the same.
Ms. White? She does what she wants.

But every PD has one huge thing that changes everything:

The people in the room.

Your questions.
Your reactions.
Your challenges.
Your energy.

That’s what shapes the session.

Professional Development Should Feel Personal

Teachers can tell when something is rehearsed word-for-word.

They can tell when a speaker is running on autopilot.

They can tell when a story has been told so many times that it’s lost its heartbeat.

That’s never what I want.

When I walk into a school or conference, I’m paying attention to:

  • What’s the energy in the room?

  • What has this staff been carrying?

  • What do they need today? Encouragement? Permission? A reminder?

I adjust in real time.

Because professional development shouldn’t feel like a recording.

It should feel like a conversation.

The Stories Evolve

Some stories grow deeper.
Some get funnier.
Some hit differently depending on who’s listening.

And sometimes?
Something happens in that room that shifts everything.

A comment.
A shared moment.
A collective laugh.
A tear.

Those are the moments you can’t script.

And I never want to.

Presence Over Performance

I don’t show up to perform.

I show up to connect.

If that means pivoting because I can feel the room needs something else — I will.

If that means throwing out the plan and following the energy — I will.

Because the goal isn’t to “get through slides.”

The goal is to leave educators feeling:

  • Seen

  • Understood

  • Encouraged

  • Lighter than when they walked in

So If You See Me More Than Once…

If you see me multiple times… at your district, at a conference, maybe even years apart. Here’s what you can expect:

You’ll laugh.

You’ll reflect.

You’ll feel seen.

But the experience itself?

It won’t be a replay.

Because every room has its own heartbeat.
Every staff carries something different.
Every moment calls for something unique.

And I believe professional development should respond to that.
